The theme is designed by Stafis to be dark. To make it brighter it would have to be rebuilt.

On my demo site MG-gs025 looks the same as your mg_evo009 brightness that you use from Stafis.

I am using png images on the edges of all components.

This allows a gradient on background. IE7 and firefox look ok.

Updated with full view of index.

The background is a gradient so in making this image it doesnt show up right.

I was mainly trying to show you some options or free themes you could use in my post at wolfgrafix site.

I posted over there that 10 to 20 euro for a one of custom theme probably is to low.

The template at psd-resources.de would be cheap for you but you would have to use phpkit.

If your not into a community type site, thats phpnuke or nuke-evo, I would suggest a flash template, example would be template monster.
